IS THEIR CHAT ON TRACK? SUPPORTING CHILDREN'S SPEECH AND LITERACY DEVELOPMENT

This workshop is intended for all staff working with children in the age range 3-8 years, which includes Child

Care Centres, Preschools, Kindergartens, Early Learning Centres and Junior Primary schools. The workshop
explores how to enrich learning experiences for all children including those who have a disability,
developmental delay or those who are experiencing difficulties in learning.

This workshop will include information and practical strategies about:

- Understanding the basics of speech and language development
- Where do things go wrong? How to tell when children might be having difficulties
  with speech or language
- Understanding how speech and language difficulties affect early literacy
- Examples and ideas using toys, games, books and other resources to help develop
  speech and language skills.
